You have got to listen to this brilliant NPR editorial about Horton Hears a Who. Peter Sagal complains eloquently (see title!) about gender inequity in the weird-ass subplot added by the Hollywood machine. Apparently, the male mayor of Whoville now has 96 cool daughters and one sullen son. Guess who gets the hero’s role?
