As If I Didn’t Have Enough To Worry About
I just listened to this week’s Scientific American podcast (mp3 , web page). It’s all about how eating disorders usually associated with the young women — anorexia nervosa and bulemia — may be prevalent among older adults and men. The interviewee just wrote a book called Lying in Weight (get the pun?) that details how older people may binge on food and purge, and that in older adults the diseases frequently go undiagnosed.
So why am I worried about this?
Well, she specifically mentioned doughnuts. Lots and lots of doughnuts.
I think maybe I’ll try to self-monitor a little bit more from now on.
Or maybe I’ll just switch to pancakes.
