Cave dwellers

It was a dark and stormy day, but I was determined not to use that as an excuse to hole up inside the house. I reserved a car and made tentative playdate plans. The other mother had an appointment and didn’t know how long it would go, but, dammit, I was going to go out anyway! Heck or high water! We’re going to the aquarium!

Notice all the past tense in that?

Needless to say:

  • playdate mom’s appointment ran late…
  • she cancelled…
  • Boobaby and I looked out at the raindrops…
  • …and never left the house.
