I once made an entire meal (three dishes) that were all beans... and I didn't realize it until I put all the food on the plate and handed it to my wife before gasping and defeatedly saying, "Oh, these are all beans. Sorry about that."

We all had gas that night.

I'm totally with you on the no-time-to-cook thing. I'm not a stay-at-home dad, but my wife often must spend the evening studying for various exams, so I end up doing meals and cleanup and etc. While I can cook reasonably well, my meal-planning skills are sadly lacking. So I was super glad to find a local DreamDinners where they'll do all the pre-prep for me (or you can do it yourself if you're so inclined)- I just have to pick a couple out of the deep freeze and put 'em in the fridge to thaw. Cooking them is super trivial (typically something like: pan-fry the meat that's in this package on both sides, then add the sauce from this other package). Steam some veggies for a side and I'm done with minimal mess (no mixing), minimal wasted food (no buying a huge pack of X when I need 3), and minimal thought (follow the directions that come with the food).

Not a shill, just a really happy customer,

@PJ - I used to try to do that kind of thing for myself, by setting aside some time to cook a bunch of meals and freeze them in portions. (We have a big freezer.) Maybe someday I'll get back to that sort of thing...

@David - Yep, that sounds like something I'd do. Just curious... what three bean dishes? Bean salad, dal soup, garbanzo loaf?
