As a SAHD
for the last four years, I understand completely! When I brought my 2 year old (now almost 4) to the dentist, they wanted to clean his teeth. Not surprisingly, my son had no interest in having this done. I actually helped one of the dental assistants hold my son down while he was crying simply because they asked me to.

About ten minutes later it hit me: I am the worst father in the world!

I spent days, and then weeks, being upset about this. I finally realized that my agonizing over it wasn't going to help anyone. I certainly learned (a lot) from that experience, and my son has absolutely no memory of the event and currently loves going to the dentist.

This too shall pass.
