I pack for trips at 2 a.m. the day of departure, so it’s unsurprising that I am two days into my vacation and just now getting around to mentioning it. Summer camp is here, on a lake in Minnesota, and though my daily work schedule hasn’t changed (stay-at-home parents take busmen’s holidays), at least it looks like this here:

Yeah, when we go on vacation I don’t go on vacation.

Oh.
I almost don’t mind inviting family to vaca with us b/c they often will play with the kids, giving me, oh, I don’t know, thirty minutes to myself every so often.
And like you, I typically spend it reading blogs. Oh, and drinking. Not sure about the order . . .
Boo has seven grandparents, so every vacation is a family vacation. Luckily, they mostly love playing with her, so I do get a break! Plus — drinking and blogging can be done simultaneously!
You can’t beat a lake in MN for rest and recreation. Next post, mosquitoes and leeches.
ya know, next summer we should really coordinate and go home at the same time.
