My mom received a diagnosis of breast cancer today. And, no, that wasn’t even the crappy reason I went to see her yesterday — although in some ways that (which, no, I’m still not talking about) was worse. Well, no, it wasn’t. But it was close.
We don’t know a ton at this point except that it’s very early, might even be what they call “Stage 0″ DCIS, so treatment options are many and prognosis is good.
It. Still. Sucks.

I am an expert on this particular subject…..!
Mom, grandma ,mom -in law , sis in law….myself with another form of the same disease. Uck!!!!!! There is nothing pretty about the big “‘C.’ I’ll be thinking of you. for sure! Hang in there and reach out when needed. It matters not how old you are – this is still your mommy.
Thinking of you all….
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that, but so happy they caught it early. Our very best to all.
Thanks a ton — it’s really nice to know so many people are so supportive. My mom is a psychologist and worked specifically in a breast cancer practice for several years with both patients and caregivers, so she feels just about as prepared as anyone could be.
Still sucks, though.
Ouch. Sorry. Really.
The very best of luck to you guys.
Early diagnosis is a great thing!
Best wishes for your mom for a speedy and thorough recovery.
And best wishes on all the other stuff, too!
Oh. Nothing I say will be enough. Just know that I am here for you G. You know it.
That sucks. So sorry. My mother goes in next wee for the removal of a lump. They don’t yet know if it’s cancer. The same is with her though, if it is it would be in the very early stage so they feel there to be a good outcome.
I’ll keep her in my prayers.
You know, somewhere out in Kansas, someone is thinking of you, and hoping the best for you. And possibly also many margaritas. Always works for me.
Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. It’s great that they’ve found it early – best wishes for a smooth recovery. I have two co-workers with best friends going through chemo right now and it’s no fun for anyone. You and yours are in my prayers.
Sorry to hear about the bad news.
Sorry.
Dude, sux. Ron sent me over to check you out, I am subscribing. Word.
That does suck ass. I bet my family yuck is worse than your family yuck.
(Flutter and I play this game, so if you think this game sucks I’m sorry, I’m not trying to make light.)
I am so sorry. At least it seems to be an early diagnosis. Hoping your burdens ease up.
Surfed over from Thirty Something Bloggers. I am sorry to hear about your mom. Early is good but no less scary, huh? I’ll keep your family in my thoughts.
Thanks… the more thoughts the better!
