Sunday Confessional V

Posted on May 4th, 2008 in confessions

I folded down ten pages in the gardener’s catalog, but I’ll recycle it without buying even one seed packet. I feel guilty every single time I buy something for myself.

  1. I know that guilt - the one that says ‘I don’t contribute financially to this household so it’s not really fair for me to spend money on stuff that isn’t strictly necessary’ - I’m learning though - and sometimes a little perk for the at home caregiver - be it seeds, a coffee, new clothes (although they do fall into the more than necessary category right now for me!) - are necessary :)

  2. Exactly! I get so many perks just by being home that it’s hard to justify a hedge trimmer. Sigh.

  3. I hope you didn’t spend money on that catalog…

  4. Only in the sense that all Americans subsidize the corporatocracy by giving bulk mailers nearly free access to our postal system.

But no, it was a free catalog.

  5. I think it is important to pamper yourself sometimes but I completely understand. I am becoming more and more frugal in my thinking and usually put my wants/needs aside for the kids.

What can we say………we are parents.
