Hey, y’all. I got listed on a list of daddy blogs on an oddly-named site called alltop.com, and they asked me to mention them. Go see alltop! (They have a lot of other areas of linkishness too, like socialmedia.alltop.com. I’m still holding out for gorillas.alltop.com. I love gorillas.)
Anyway, I probably wouldn’t have mentioned it, except their CEO (who e-mailed me directly! or at least his executive assistant did) is Guy Kawasaki. In 1981, my mom bought us an Apple ][+ and I was thereby introduced to square brackets, the BASIC programming language, and glossy computer magazines.
On the last page of one of those mags was a funny column about computers written by (you guessed it) Guy Kawasaki. Even as a tender pre-adolescent, I realized that anyone who could make computers seem funny must be a good writer. I know this sounds weird, but yeah, reading a geeky humor feature made me want to write.
So Guy’s new site gets a shout-out because he listed me as a daddy blogger but all the more so because he (in part) inspired me to start writing… funny how small this world is, sometimes.
