Before having children I could see how a parent’s reaction to a child’s injury effected how the child reacted. You would see children who would throw a big hissy for a bump and a child who would headbutt the concrete and not cry.

I have always tried to not over-react. Usually I can tell if Lil’ Bum is hurt before she reacts. If it is minor she just brushes it off but if she needs consoling I hold her and talk to her. Usually some quick tlc does the trick. I do the same with Baby Bum.

My husband thinks I’m a miracle worker because of my ability to calm our boy down. There’s really not much to it, but I don’t tell him that. ;o)

I have three of those boobabies and with each one you get a little tougher in handling the owies or the crying. If they aren’t bleeding i give them a hug and send them on there way. My ritual with little monkey is to kiss what ever he hurt and the crying is over and he takes off to play. totally forgetting that a few minutes earlier the world ended according to him.
