That guy at the paint store: Thank You XXV

by doodaddy on November 25, 2007

I love to do-it-myself, but what I have in enthusiasm, I make up for by lack of skill. I’m basically competent, but unknowledgable about esoteric but crucial tasks: primer types, for example, or the qualities of the ideal brush. Yet I’m always disappointed by hardware store employees, who either know a lot but convey their smarts with a barely disguised sneer, or else know little but say a lot and sneer anyway.

That’s why, in the midst of painting our kitchen cabinets, I was thrilled to find a paint store with friendly service that wasn’t condescending. It was a nice antidote to a few tough days. So, for today,

Thanks, guy at Dunn Edwards Paint in Daly City! You rock!

oh…. I listened to Scout this time and we are paying people to paint – I feel pretentious about it – but after the bathroom sat half done and looking like poo for 6 weeks, I could only shrug helplessly while he wrote the check.
