Nikolai Gogol: Thank You XIX

Gogol Bordello
Love this stuff…

OK, I know this is a bit of an outlier, but I really love Gogol. His were the first works of literature I read that were goofy (like me) but still hid some pretty intense meaning.

By way of example, go download the free version of "The Nose" — in which this guy wakes up to discover that his nose has gone walkabout. He gets pretty pissed when he sees his nose driving around town dressed to kill with some hot chicks. And haven’t we all felt that way before?

Anyway, for turning me on to grownup literature,

Thanks, Nikolai Gogol!

I just have to wonder what in the world made him come up with that story? It’s insane!
