Married, With Housework

Posted on July 28th, 2007 in housework

Here’s a random Saturday question: What do you all do with your wedding rings while you clean?

Back when I was just “housework husband” I would skewer my ring on the cordless phone base station when I was cleaning. Then I became “housework dad and “cleaning” became pretty much my normal mode of behavior.

So either I wear it and it gets gunky or I skewer it and pretty much never wear it.

Maybe this is why women’s wedding rings aren’t so bulky and bandy?

Anyway, I’m open to suggestions.

  1. i never take mine off..but hubby keeps his on the bathroom sink when he works on this truck..not a safe place.

  2. I have to wear my ring on my middle finger if it’s cold outside or if I know I’ll be using soap. I lost a TON of weight in the past year — seriously, 30 pounds — and Molly flies off my finger every other second. Maybe I should just get it re-sized.

  3. @dana~Yikes! I have a suggestion — get him a special carabiner to clip it on. That’s what I used to do when I was working. Just make sure to get one of the “real” ones with a safety catch!

@mike~”Molly?” You *named* it? What else have you…. no, wait, I rescind the question…
