Hey, Csara,

It's getting easier, I'll tell you, but it's not yet "easy." Maybe in a few weeks... I'm sure you'll be able to read about it, should you choose!

That was a great post! I gotta tell you my son is 24.5 months and we've had a paid babysitter only 3 times....

once we had a friend of a friend whom I had never met before come over while my son was sleeping and I knew he would most likely not wake up

next was a thai woman(did not speak english) at a very nice hotel in thailand (she worked there) and DS was sleeping the entire time....

the third time was on another vacation, and our friends and us left our kiddos with a well-recommended nanny. my son loved her!

now I am looking for one to use on a regular basis but I'm scared. I don't think anyone else can get him to go to sleep.

So, anyway....after hijacking your post, I wanted to say kudos to you! You will be very relieved after a few times of using the new babysitter.

@Annie~ So you waited too, huh? I don't suppose you held your baby for a long time before bedtime, did you? We're still rocking her to sleep... not such a great idea for such an old kid, I'm told.

@cryitout~ That's probably because you've actually *seen* the one-eyed music dude!

@mom101~ Thought it through? Nah... in hindsight, we just got lucky! Very little of this was planned, just happenstance.

@aimee~ "Like" Harry Potter? I wrote "Firebolt" on my broom, 'kay? :)

I admire how well you thought this through. The first time we left Thalia with a sitter it was in an unfamiliar LA hotel room - PANIC. Thank God I was done nursing at that point so that I could drink plenty of wine while we were gone.

I think you did just great, all things considered. (and thanks for the nice words at my place today.)

A sweet, sweet post DD. And very funny, too -- I snorted at the one-eyed pirate line.

Yay for you!

YAY! I was just going to say I'll bet she was fine 5 minutes after you left. I understand how hard this is - but in our case we waited until I was just so so desperate to get a way on a breather for a few hours, I didn't care how they got on - I knew it wouldn't be for long and I knew and absolutely trusted the babysitter, so I figured any 'issues' would be resolved and everyone would get over them ha ha!
