I gotta tell you my son is 24.5 months and we've had a paid babysitter only 3 times.... once we had a friend of a friend whom I had never met before come over while my son was sleeping and I knew he would most likely not wake up next was a thai woman(did not speak english) at a very nice hotel in thailand (she worked there) and DS was sleeping the entire time.... the third time was on another vacation, and our friends and us left our kiddos with a well-recommended nanny. my son loved her! now I am looking for one to use on a regular basis but I'm scared. I don't think anyone else can get him to go to sleep. So, anyway....after hijacking your post, I wanted to say kudos to you! You will be very relieved after a few times of using the new babysitter. The first time we left Thalia with a sitter it was in an unfamiliar LA hotel room - PANIC. Thank God I was done nursing at that point so that I could drink plenty of wine while we were gone. I was just going to say I'll bet she was fine 5 minutes after you left. I understand how hard this is - but in our case we waited until I was just so so desperate to get a way on a breather for a few hours, I didn't care how they got on - I knew it wouldn't be for long and I knew and absolutely trusted the babysitter, so I figured any 'issues' would be resolved and everyone would get over them ha ha!
