Destroying the Evidence

by doodaddy on May 6, 2007

I tore the cover to the Jungle Safari cards today. Working Mom would probably have wanted to keep it, to collect all the Safari cards back together in their package. (Guess who would actually be doing the collecting?) I figure that those cards can be tossed in the toy basket with the rest… there’s no real point in keeping the box.

So I tore it in half and dropped it in the trash.

If it had been untorn, she would have noticed and asked me why we were getting rid of it. Torn, it looks like Boo had her way with it and made it useless. I wouldn’t actually tell her that if she asked, but I am certainly implying that’s what happened. If she asked, I’d probably say

“Oh, that? That got torn.”

Notice the guile. Notice the past participle. I sound like a “mistakes were made” politician, don’t I?

I’m a stinker.

Ah, so I’m not the only one who does these things. Good to know.
