I’m such a square

I turned a square yesterday, which is the second best thing to turn, after a prime. As a present, the universe sent me a nice illustration of my coming mental infirmity.

To keep her from careening off the bed while I got dressed, I was keeping up an entertaining conversation with our newly crawling baby… “Yaaayaaaayaaayaaa,” she’ll say. “Yep, you betcha!” I replied. “Yaayaa,” she implied, knowingly. You know, that sort of thing. Nothing seriously challenging to an adult mind, you’d think… just enough to keep the baby occupied, leaving plenty of brain cells for the mundane task of getting my clothes on.

Or at least, so I thought, until I discovered that I was wearing two pairs of underwear.

Aaah, thanks, universe. It starts….
